Got my hands on a MAC Chroma Green Garter!!

The MAC Snake Eyes Collection came out in 2000, before all the LE craze there is today. Back then, my cousin was working for MAC in Korea and gave my sister a bunch of their products. When I got older, my sister passed some onto me. I had a Chroma Purple Python eyeshadow for a few years and always thought how pretty it was to look at but never realized (until about a year or two ago) just how rare it was.

Chroma Purple Python is a matte burgundy purple shade with a blue-purple duochrome overspray and a really cool snake skin imprint. The 4 eyeshadows from this collection were:

-Chroma Green Garter
-Chroma Purple Python
-Chroma Sinful Serpent
-Chroma Copper Cobra

The one thing that I hate about these is that the beautiful duochrome shimmer on top is only an overspray top layer. Personally, I'm not that into the LE craze. I'm going to buy a product if I'm going to use it. I'm not going to keep it around, untouched, and see how much the value goes up. But hey, that's just me!

This past summer I thought about how I never used Purple Python soooo..... I decided to swap it. Ugh, big mistake. I miss it now :(

Luckily, I was able to swap for Chroma Green Garter. I just wish I had both, since that would be 2 out of the 4! I like this color a lot more than the Purple Python. Its a dark greyish green, very unique and very "smokey" looking if you know what I mean. I don't have anything quite like it. The shadow itself was in very good condition. The duochrome overspray only remains along the outside edges but the snake imprints are all there. Yes, I will be using this shadow as I would any other shadow but I hate ruining the lovely snake pattern! :(

Here is a picture of the shadow itself. I love the size of these Chroma shadows. They are much larger than a normal MAC eyeshadow but a bit smaller than a blush pan.



In this look, I used the bright green from my Cargo Hands of Hope palette on the lid with Chroma Green Garter in the crease. Its a lot more pigmented/vibrant in person.



Just a heads up... if you happen to have a chance to swap for one of these or find one on eBay, take the opportunity. These are gorgeous and extremely hard to find.
